May 27, 2009 – –Carrier Neutral Colocation provider Moxie Colo, today announced the opening of a new data center. The new space marks the hosting provider's second data center and is part of Moxie Colo's aggressive expansion. The facility has top of the line specifications in redundancy, security, connectivity, and cooling systems. The facilities' power, UPS system, and HVAC systems are rated at a minimum of N+2, which means that for each system, there are two independent backups that ensure ongoing functionality were the original system to fail.

Some specifications of Moxie Colo's new data center include:

-1500 square feet of initial, raised-floor data center space
-Additional 15,000 square feet now being built out of raised-floor data center space
-210 watts of power capacity per square foot
-Up to 12 kilowatts of power per cabinet
-Laser-based early fire detection system (VESDA)
-24-hour security: level III walls & doors, keycard
-On-site NOC staffed 24/7/365 by Moxie Colo technicians

All current and future customers will benefit from Moxie Colo's data center expansion. "The additional space enables geographic redundancy," said Steve Scott, Moxie Colo's Senior Operations Manager. "Customers will benefit as they have more room for growth and more options for redundancy. The new data center gives Moxie Colo a platform from which to continue heavily investing in a wide and robust network both at our original data center and the new facility," Steve added.

According to Sean Corbin, Moxie Colo's President and CEO, "the data center space at the new facility allows us to locate our client's servers in one of the most advanced facilities in the Mississauga Area,We have N+2 redundancy feed by 2 feeder lines 1 from Mississauga Hydro and another from the Airport power grid, connectivity, fire and cooling systems that we can depend on. This facility wasn't refit, or re-engineered. It was built entirely from the ground up to anticipate high server density. It allows for our company to use all of our space, and power. With 48U cabinets and the ability to more than adequately handle 12KW per cab, we'll waste less money and resources, which in turn will keep our clients from paying for inefficiencies."
