Posted by j531168, 09-12-2007, 10:40 AM
The loading time of the webpage in my server become slower and slower in these few day. After I've checked the apache log, I find that there're many many error occur continously. I think that this is the main cause of the slowing. May I have any suggestions for sloving this problem? Unfortunately those logs are not very helpful, and since those 404 errors (file does not exist) are spaced apart over several minutes it shouldn't be causing your server to become slower and slower... What does top show and is this a shared hosting server, or are you only running a couple web sites?

Pat is right 404's are not the reason apache is slowing down for you. I would look at cpu, ram, and disk io. Start by getting us the top command output so we can help.

Thank you for your answering... But what is the meaning of "top show"? As I'm very new in linux server, I'm not knowing them very much... I have look at the CPU , Ram and etc, It seems that every things are ok... My phpsysinfo: http://203.169.176.230/~admin/phpsys...y8iksfd903sdf/ BesideI can still visit my website through IP address, however I cannot visit them through a http://www. path... I've try to restart the server and the httpd a few times, but seems that didn't work... The following are more log record... set to be 250. and all the subdomain on the server doesn't work...

Posted by debug26, 09-13-2007, 08:23 AM
Hello, I think you should check if your domain and subdomain is pointing to your server or not.

Posted by j531168, 09-13-2007, 08:32 AM
parts of the problem were solved... it's the problem of nameserver and DNS instead of apache... however, all the subdomain still doesn't work... they are all pointing to my server correctly.

Well obviously from the MaxClients error, you have got more than 250 connections.. try the netstat command or look in whm (if you are running cpanel) for the apache server status.. it will give you clues as to what's occurring.

but why only the subdomain doesn't work?? the others domains are working...

Posted by j531168, 09-13-2007, 08:49 AM
i've try the netstat command...but it show nothing.. maybe can you show me the cmd? i may type the incorrect command... I'm using Directadmin
