Is It Possible To Keep a Mirro Backup Of A Reseller Account?

Hi, Using online backup service, it is possible if we are root or we have a vps or server to keep an exact replica of our site that we can fire off in the event of downtime happened. Is there a solution where we can keep an exact backup (a mirror) using a reseller account even without root? (without downloading the files of all the sub account to our own pc of course)

You could ftp or rsync files to a second box that you have as "hot spare" and if things go bad at your first box, just point to the other machine. There are nice solutions out there, but usually costly

to rysnc, we need root right? and to use FTP, if I'm not mistaken it will transfer only one account at a time true?

May be you can look at failover services. i have seen some hosts providing them, In that case when a server goes down, your site will pulled up from the other host.

You can setup up automatically backups. Ask your host to provide you shell access to do rsync backups. If not, then if you have cpanel, you can backup accounts and sql databases through whm. Regards

I have asked him to provide shell, he said i'm smoking something if I expect him to give me shell. the second option using WHM, it's for ftp not rysnc right? Btw Matt, as far as I remember only ResellerZoom provide failover reseller hosting right? Any other provider? There are a lot that provide failover shared hosting, but not many provide failover reseller plan.
