How to disable the backup facility in customers cpanel?
Posted by jumpinjack, 01-07-2008, 08:25 PM |
Just wondering how I can disable the backup function in my customers cpanel. I do not want them to have the ability to backup, as it takes up a lot of space. Is it in the WHM backup section? Not sure which option it correlates to. Thank you.

Just out of curiosity, why would you disable the backup feature? You're certainly going to tick off a few people

This option can be disabled in Feature Manager (Packages -> Feature Manager).

Generally with any sites over 5ish GB, regardless of server specs, it will either slow the server to the point where you can't use anything nor access any site until it is complete, or it will completely crash the server.

I know there is no way in WHM to do that. How exactly do you disable compression? The fact that cpbackup (pkgacct) uses so much cpu actually made us switch to rsync for backups.
