Create Testing Directory

Posted by rougy, 01-11-2008, 10:29 AM
Hi, I'm not sure how to word this, but I have a USB drive with Uniserver, XAMP, and WOS portable webservers installed. The problem is that I would like to have a "test" directory that is independent of these three servers, but still accessible by typing something like "localhost/test" into the browser, regardless of which package I'm running. Each server package has its own neat little pros and cons and I'd like to be able to play around with all of them and still have the same common access to the same test directory. Does anybody know if it's possible and how I can do that?

Well the idea would be to create the test folders and modify the config files of the webservers to point the DocumentRoot to that test directory .

Yeah. I figured that part out already. Just need to do a Google to find out the magic words, I guess.

See for the start: http://center.uniformserver.com/us_3...tual_host.html Xamp uses apache so this one should be easy, this if i remember correctly. Also, be more careful with insults, as it is no ones fault that you have no idea how to google or read documentation.
