hackers usually get in through exploits in web based scripts rather than the server them selves. if you have server with all the latest updates a decent firewall and brute force protection change standered ports to unusuall ones secure var and tmp and dev/shm directories disable compilers on the server untill you need them your pretty much safe. but if you use a out of date script with a major exploit all that other protection is pretty much uneffective as the hacker could simply do a sql injection inset them selves as a admin on your script and take control of the site. these methods are alot easier and simpler than doing somthing like a buffer overflow atack which server hardening can protect you from

Did they actually hack your vps or just the account? Judging by the Google results for that domain name they probably got in through your vB installation. Is it a legal copy, fully updated, no unsafe plugins etc?

they hacked my clients accounts . Some of the vBs are legal.

They are exploiting your php scripts, they uploaded the c99shell via an insecure PHP script - RFI most likely. You can block these attacks via installing mod_security. Also, consider reviewing all vB installs and there versions. Best Regards, Logan

LoganNZ Thank you for that tip that will help me. Do you know some one who can be trust, to monitor my VPS, and update it from any attack, and manage if I got attack, from where and stopped that script? Of course I will pay him annually.
