Error 406 when uploading from flash

I've recently moved to a new provider and noticed that one of my sites that was using a flash file uploader without any problems now receives a 406 error whenever a file upload finishes. After some digging online i found that the problem could be caused by mod_security and found a tutorial which explains that by using .htaccess u can disable mod_security for the certain domain. I've tried that but receiving internal server error who seems to indicate that mod_security is not actually running. I looked at the domain's error log file and no entry is being written to the log when the error occurs. Anyone have any ideas how to fix it? Or at least where to look for the causes. I'm using the following flash uploader: http://don.citarella.net/index.php/a...file-uploader/ Server is running CentOS and WHM .. the original server that didnt have a problem with the uploads was running Fedora and WHM.

I'm more like looking for the solution to the issue myself.

you tried this solution and it gives you 500 error? If so you may dont have enough access to disable mod_security (AllowOverride none in httpd.conf)

tix3 yeah thats the solution i tried. without the ifmodule if causes an internal server error. its a dedicated server so i have root access. what puzzles me is the fact that if mod security was causing it it would create an entry in the error log.

First of all check if your mod_security is there. If it isnt you dont have to disable ir (I know i am genious sometime). Can you check the http_log or the error_log for any entries that might give us some extra info? As far as i have searched 406 is a mime-type browser error. I dont have any idea if there is no error_log but I really want to find out what is happening (knowlesge is power)
