Hey all, I am starting up a forums. I was wondering the best place to find someone willing to help me a develop a forum system. This would be a great piece of software I want to develop. I'm just looking for somewhere to meet/find a developer to join this or someone willing to help me! Thanks!

These days there are tons of softwares for forums. your going to have to make your project stand out. what you should try to do is right now develop ideas of features that the script will have try coming up with something no other forum software has available yet. also are you looking to develop a site or the actual script to resell and to be used by others? you have to remember of the competitors like vb , SMF, um xfeno and a couple others. I suggest you take a look at those scripts and see what can you do or design or develop that will make your software better than others. best of luck hope all goes well.

Well, unless there is some specific feature you need that the other software doesnt have, mybb, vb, phpbb, smf etc.Theres rwally no need to develop a new forum software, also, try to find a module with what you want or create one, much easier than making new forum software.

Are you looking for someone who could work full time developing the system? Why not try hiring a group of developers from either of these sites Odesk, Freelancer or Staff.com? I think they have more staff who are much qualified to develop this system, and their rates are lower compared to hiring someone locally.
