need test dns lookups from around the world

I am trying to debug a dns problem. What I need is for you to do a dns lookup and report: 1) the address that was returned, the last octect will do. 2) the area of the world you queried from The answers *will* vary because the dns server is geolocation enabled. Or, at least they *should* vary. But, someone claims its buggered. The host name to lookup is: ssl.dnsmasq.com Thanks in advance, Plumsauce

Sydney, Brisbane, LA, Dallas all give me the same answer (205). HTH Edit: here's another 20 or so - looks like it's 205 or nothing... http://www.mob.net/~ted/tools/dns.ph...ook+up=Look+up Last edited by foobic; 03-15-2008 at 01:14 AM. Reason: additional

Hi Foobic, That's a great tool you posted. 205 would be okay for Brisbane. 215 was returned in the tool you linked to for Mexico City. That's great, because the split is: 205=AFRINIC, APNIC, ARIN 215=IANA, LACNIC, RIPE So, I still need lookups from AFRINIC and RIPE space. Thanks! Last edited by plumsauce; 03-15-2008 at 01:41 AM.

Try this tool. For each result you can click on it to get a detailed log which includes the IP returned from the lookup. http://www.alertra.com/spotcheck.php

Hi Wkkay, Yes, that was another very helpful tool. Results were as expected. I got the additional Ripe results, so that makes the survey complete. Thanks to both of you!
