4 GM RAM - 1000 Max MySQL Connections

Hey guys, I've set max mysql c. to 1000 but as techs reported, ram is being maxed out once it reaches number like this. Is this normal or 4GB of RAM should handle more of them? RAM diagnosis is not a solution I guess, cause server would be donw for quite a long time.

You haven't given us any information about your database. If you are consuming swap, you need more memory. I recommend 8gb+ for a busy database server.

Do you have a degree in vague posting? Have you looked at your mysql process list to see what is being done in each respective database?
