Hello i have bought VPS with Burstable Memory (MB): 512 Guaranteed Memory (MB): 256 And i like some free control panel,and to doesn't have high memory usage.And tell me the OS what type to have...I have at the moment CentOS.Also i need security,such block ddos attack or flood. Thanks Nikolasr

You can try webmin -> www.webmin.com To install it, just login to your server via SSH and execute this command: rpm -Uvh http://freefr.dl.sourceforge.net/sou...0-1.noarch.rpm After that you can login at: http://your_ip_address:10000 using your system root account.

I know LxAdmin is excellent for a VPS with low amount of RAM(256MB). LxAdmin seems to be utilizing only 15MB RAM according to their site.

for ddos prevention you could try dos_evasive, works pretty well

If you are going to use webmin, I always suggest that it is firewalled so that only your IP address can access it. It runs with root privileges, so if an exploit is found, the implications are very bad. Last time there was an exploit, there was an exploit script that went around grabbing the shadow file on the servers, allowing the exploiter access after cracking the passwords, which is simply a matter of time and computing power.

If you get attacked frequently you will probably need a more powerful VPS. Depending on the exact type and scope of the attack that VPS will have trouble handling them.
