how can i stop yum automatically on centos with cpanel ?

my hd is little and the /var partition is full twice this days,
and it make my server down.
i try to run "yum clean all" and it empty some space.
i want to ask if any way i can stop the automatic yum ?
or the space will be full again and my server will down again.

are you referring to yum updates?

yes,i cheak the /var/log/messages,
it seems it do yum automatically.

1) Check crontabs
2) Move /var to another partition

i check the /etc/yum.conf
i find the "cachedir=/var/cache/yum",
could i chang the cache folder to others? ,like /home or /,
becasue i find the yum full the /var/cache/yum and make my /var full,
and my server server down.
is it ok to do the change ? need change any other setting to let it work ?

You can move them to another partition and symlink it so you don't have to touch the configuration file.

To disable yum's automatic updates, run:
chkconfig yum-updatesd off
