on a server with CentOS 5.2 and cPanel 11.24.4, Apache 2.2.11 i need to find where does squirrelmail save the .abook files. on my servers should be at /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/squirrelmail/data but there are only 3 files in there: .htaccess, default_pref and index.php is there any place where squirrelmail might save these files? or a database perhaps? i couldn't manage to locate them. thanks Last edited by minadreapta; 04-06-2009 at 03:36 PM.

anytime I've set up squirrelmail, that's all there is. set up an email account, use squirrelmail, and it creates any necessary files, including stuff like you@yourdomain.com.abook, you@yourdomain.com.pref, etc.. i don't use cpanel though, so maybe it squirrels (pardon the pun) squirrelmail stuff away in strange places

When you set up SquirrelMail - assuming a control panel hasn't done it for you - the conf.pl script asks for two file paths - one is for "user data", the other is for "attachments". Where those files live is either a) the defaults (download it and run the script to see) or b) at the mercy of your system admin or c) at the mercy of your ^ insert control panel here. They will not be in the web root. Correction, they *SHOULD NOT* be in the web root but no doubt there are some morons who have put them there, somewhere in the world. The address book files live in /path/to/your/userdata/idname.abook
