Wants to offer reseller packages

Posted by jablunka, 06-05-2003, 08:28 PM
Hello I have read thru various threads and tried to familiarise myself with all the aspects of offering reseller packages, from what i can gather i need a dedicated server and an admin person/team to manage it. My requirements are this, i want to be able to offer reseller packages on my website similar to all the other ones available, ie 2 GB space 20GB transfer unlimited domains etc etc however i do not have the technical knowledge to be able to lease a server and do all the technical and admin stuff. If i lease a dedicated server from say RackShack for $99 with 80GB space etc how much would it cost to be able to have this fully managed whereby i can break up the the 80GB and offer say 40 resellers packages or whatever i can with the resources available. Is the above possible, i have seen figures of $100 a month for someone to manage a dedicated server etc vnpixel spings to mind would this include setting up all the reseller packages and so on. Any advice would be welcome and if the above is not possible, what about selling reseller packages as a referral or affiliate but with a monthly income, as an example if someone offers a $19 per month package would i be able to sell it on for say $29 and get the $10 per month and so on.

rent the server, install linux on another box you have, learn your way around the OS and manage it yourself ;-) best, cheapest way. btw: Wrong forum :-x

If you are just starting out.... I reccomend you pickup a cheap reseller package on eBay .... Although some of these hosts are not great, if you shop around you can find a good reseller package... This is the hidden secret that no one on here is willing to tell... ----------- Ben. B http://ListBay.ca/host

I think you should go for a Dedicated server, but my advise is that you should go in for a managed server only (as you are new to this business), from any reputed data centre with friendly support staff good luck to you. Please msg me at konzern@hotmail.com for any further advice that you may need would be glad to help, coz ppl on this forum have really helped me a lot when i was buying my first dedicated server.
