None of logs are being updated. example: named is not going start /var/log/messages are showing yesterday logs and there are no updates. What can be the issue?

Please confirm the following 1) Confirm syslog service is running ps ax | grep syslog If its not running you can start this using /etc/init.d/syslog restart 2) confirm your /var is not full df -h

Is the log file '/var/log/messages' failing to log only the BIND errors? Or is it unable to log anything. Check if the log file has proper write permissions.

Make sure that are you out of disk space? Do you get logs on the console if you leave it open? Is the syslog daemon running? #df -k
