non-redhat Cpanel reseller hosts

I'm looking for a reputable host that has either already made the plunge or always has been using a different OS then RedHAT. I don't particularly care which OS as I have experience with every OS that cpanel supports but I would rather not use any of the OS's in beta for cpanel right now Any recommendations would be appreciated (preferebly not self recommendations

Does Windows hosts count [I'm kidding - I suspect you are looking for FreeBSD or something like that]. You may have a hard time as CPanel is slow to support anything but RH. Hopefully with the RH changes, we'll see CPanel supporting Debian soon. Cheers Jeff Cheers Jeff

double the cheers double the fun, eh? I haven't heard that actually, I currently use ensim but it supports nothing else BUT RedHAT/Fedora atm and that's unacceptable for me ;\ Btw, to those of you spamming me in private, please stop, I am not interested in self promoting companies, I want recommendations from others

Forwarding those PM's to the mod's will give each of the user's a very unique user title. As for a non-RH cpanel host, you're going to have a very tough job on your hands, as idologic "cheers" jeff says, they are very slow to support anything that is non-redhat. Simon

There's an ensim version for windows... but if you want to stay with the *nix stuff, then choice seems rather limited to redhat or freebsd.

How is cpanel's support of FBSD?

mystro Cpanel is still a little buggy with FBSD but getting better I see a lot less complaints than I used to their forums these days on it. BTW please send us a copy of the PM's that were spamming you so we can explain the rules to the senders once again.

We recently put one of these boxes online for testing. You can read about our experience thus far at WHT Thread. BTW This is not a hosting offer we are merely sharing our experience testing the same.

I hear cPanel is coming along nicely on FreeBSD but have no direct experience so cannot comment fully. We've got some Fedora machines running nicely with cPanel... no major problems at all. Tested with Trustix and although suprisingly more stable that I expected, it still has some awkward bugs and not something I'd be happy putting together on a client box. I'm keen to see the Trustix version of cPanel become more stable because it's a nice OS. I'm also keen to see the Debian version too but have not tested this (yet) so cannot comment on it's current status.
