Deep Linking

Hi all, I had a flash website created by a company and was previously on a shared hosting website. Have since moved to a dedicated server and now my deep linking on the website is not working ie mywebsite.com/contact is just displaying as mywebsite.com. Does anyone know whether this is a problem that occurs with a dedicated server? My server is with 1and1 and uses the Plesk o/s. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's likely due to your .htaccess file not being parsed (assuming there is one).
