Should I go with EQUIVITY.COM?
Posted by Hostex Australia, 02-18-2004, 05:39 PM |
I am wanting to change provider from e3 Servers to equivity.com . I did a WHOIS and they domain was created 2002 and they say they have been in business since 2002. The domain is pointing to NS3.HYPERDRIVEDNS.COM.....why isn't it pointing to for example NS1.EQUIVITY.COM....sounds a little weird. Also, they say they own a datacenter but when I do a traceroute it looks like they are connected with GNAX or somthing similar. Can somebody do a throurough check of these guys and tell me what they think, they offer unbelievable reseller costs...another sign? I just dont what to sign up with some 15 year old etc. (even though I am 14...but Im pretty sure I know what I am doing when it comes to hosting etc...but maybe not design). Equivity make it sound like they are a company and own datacenters....is it true. They offer 30 day money back guaruntee....what should I do?? Thanks!

It's quite common for the nameservers of a host to be different to that of the hosts domain name - This all depends on how easy they want their DNS to be to remember

Equivity are top people: i have a resseller acount with them and the service is A++, they have always answered my questions and even helped me with non hosting related things. They have a support forum now click here They also work with click cart pro skins .
any other questions?
James
ALSO: They own a data center and they use another data center.

What was your reason for leaving e3?

their reseller accounts were about 10 times smaller than equivity and they are also smaller than most other resellers..... Their support was A+ and there was no downtime....I just don't think I am getting good value for money compared to other hosts.

Ditto on this one.
I signed up with them last week and they have responded in a very timely manner all my support requests.

yes they guarantee 99% that doesnt mean they cant have a higher uptime. Does cPanel / WHM display average uptime....I don't think so.

my server has never gone down, I think that one server in certain has had problems, but it isn't mine so I don't worry to much. Equivity fix problems very quickly though. For the price I am paying I am lucky I can even get the DS and Bandwidth at that price! I recommend equivity to everyone that wants a reseller account

what server are you on Bub Host?
Maybe I could ask em to put me on the same server with you
yes I know.. although the offer 99% doesnt mean their uptime is 99%
Hope to get clear Info on this from other Equivity's clients.

my account is on galaxy. no trouble there except for last week's problem with someone's script running haywire. Speed is excellent, too.

Interesting deals, any info on what the problem is with the server, how long have they been in business and support requests handled quickly?

Equivity rarely writes here but in the few times they have, they have spoken much about themselves. Check out this thread: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...hreadid=241262
They are fairly quick to respond to CS and most of the time I'm able to catch them on ICQ and if they're not there, they respond within a reasonable amount of time (my experience is from 5 minutes to 2 hours, not bad).
I believe their quite a reliable bunch and honest in their dealings.

I am on Galaxy, but they are no longer putting new accounts on this server. They just recently added a new server (Warp) and if you were to join up you would basically have the whole server to your self for a while, and that server has had an uptime of basically 100% since it was added, what more can I say, equivity have the best costs, great support and great uptime !
