Cpanel SFTP Issue

Hai All, I have cpanel linux VPS in which I have implemented SFTP ( using SSH ) for security reasons and disabled pureftp . Now cpanel user can login into sftp but the users created using FTP Accounts in cpanel cannot login into server using SFTP , how can i solve this issue ... thanks in advance... You will need to create SSH accounts for each user that needs to use SFTP. SFTP is in no way related to regular FTP. SFTP = SSH File Transfer Protocol. I must admit, I'm not even sure if this can be done via cPanel/WHM. While I use cPanel on a regular basis I have not used WHM in a few years.

Correct. Since you disabled FTP, users need a SSH account (jailed) in order to use SFTP. You would do this in WHM, under "Manage Shell Access" and enabling jail shell.

If security is your concern, why not enable SSL on pureftpd?

I have eanbled SFTP through ssh because of gamblour attack issue....
