HSphere Experience?

Posted by danyon, 04-15-2004, 05:49 PM
After much research I am considering the re-seller program at HSphere. Does anyone have experience with them? Thanks!

I have extensive experience and am very impressed, it has a few rough edges on the windows side, but overall is a great option, expecially for a reseller.

Been using H-SPhere for 2 + years now.. Doing great and 2.4 is even more killer then 2.3 You just can't go wrong with H-Sphere, just be careful of the host you pick running it..

Shameless, just shameless I agree, H-Sphere is the bee's knees. 2.4 has taken things that one step further, that SWsoft, Ensim, and CPanel, were desperately hoping would take pSoft a lot longer. Kudos to Igor and the pSoft guys, they have the best hosting automation and control panel system around, in my opinion. Scalable, dynamic, customizable, and a few more "able's" to boot. Simon

We have quite a few Cpanel servers. We just installed our first H-Sphere system using 4 servers. We've been testing the H-Sphere for two weeks now. It is amazing and powerful. It's got a bit of a steep learning curve but once you get used to it, it is quite amazing. The other thing I think you will find is that hosting companies that offer H-Sphere tend to have more experienced system and server admins than those with some of the other control panel systems.

I agree. I think it's a sort of forced issue. H-Sphere is so diverse in it's entire makeup, and it's scalability does come at a price, from an administrative p.o.v, as it really needs some vet's looking after it, and as you say, they learning curve can be steep, but I would say abruptly steep. You are right. We installed the system 2 weeks ago. I thought we would have it open to the public by now. We got all the configuration done fine and every thing is working well. We are lucky that we don't have to get it on line ASAP, but I think it will be another 2-3 weeks before we would be comfortable opening hosting to the public from a support point of view.

www.diyhosting.net I know what you mean though, there isn't many other companies I'd recommend, but Matrix is solid. Simon

Greetings: We have been using H-Sphere from Positive Software (http://www.psoft.net/) for approximately 18 months. Over the past eight years in hosting (nine years in business), we have worked with various technologies (control panels and the like). We've found H-Sphere to be the only software on the market that provides 100% shared hosting automation, and is economical. You can often get started with your own H-Sphere cluster for under $200 (licenses and installation); and that under $200 brings you complete automation. While our parent company -- Dynamic Net, Inc. -- is a provider (not a reseller), we are able to provide our resellers with the same complete automation that is one aspect of financial health. Our resellers have their hosting operation completely automated through H-Sphere. The customers benefit from an easy-to-use control panel, a built in knowledge base, a support ticket system that works with email and web-based access, and more. The Positive Software support team is prompt; and does a good job. The H-Sphere community at http://forum.psoft.net/ is filled with extremely friendly, polite, and helpful people who don't mind sharing their wisdom and experiences with others. All in all, our H-Sphere experience has been very positive. Thank you.

I agree that H-sphere blows the others away - we've been running it ove a year now and it has made life as a host much easier! The ability to manage multiple servers with a fantastic customer control panel, automated signup and provisioning, integrated billing, CC processing, domain name registration, full management reports, etc., etc. make it a winner. Host or reseller, I think you'll be much happier using H-sphere.

Well said Jim, One thing we notice when resellers sign up with us, or any H-Sphere provider, is that they are literally blown away at the tools they have at their disposal. It's literally like an all-in-one solution. 2.4 furthers pSoft's stance on their #1 spot in the CP market (although I don't think it should be ranked alongside the other CP's, that are *only* CP's). The only blip on pSoft record, of late, is the recent CP+ Debacle Simon

How careful? Are there a lot of bad or so-so Hsphere hosts out there?

Posted by (Stephen), 04-17-2004, 12:13 AM
intellec, there are some great hosts out there, but there are some flaky ones, just like with any other control panel provider.

True. I wonder if he knows something special. Welp, too late to ask now, I have a Hsphere reseller plan. LOL Actually they seem fairly knowledgable and they use some specialists. I am really surprised at the all of the features and capabilities of the control panel.
