I want to know, how to setup a dedicated server for webhosting with unlimited plans, certain with Linux. I am interested in technical solutions rather then plans and considerations. If it is possible with WHM/cPanel then the solution is best, otherwise any control panel is O.K. From last 3 hours I am constantly googleing for this, but I am unable to find even headway. Thank you,

In cPanel/WHM, you can choose to give your user accounts "unlimited" ressources like HD space, domains, mail accounts, bandwidth and so on. But of course, you are limited to the REAL ressources on the server.

As long as you own the server, you can do unlimited in CPanel. Of course, there is no such thing as unlimited space/bandwidth.

Thank you for quick reply, and forgive me for my foolish question. What should consider while offering. Some offers unlimited diskspace with limitations with no of files, as well as some offers unlimited bandwidth with limited throughput or connection. How to configure this stuffs?

Hello WehostingGurues, Help a newbie please. Suggest at least a controlpanel with required addons or modules from which we can manage server for unlimited plans. We can control usage by some factors like connections, bandwidth throughput or inode.

If you want to ask about how to set up unlimited hosting, WHT is not for you. Just search unlimited host and you will find most WHT users bash unlimited hosts. WHT also does not allow any advertising of unlimited hosting. So you're in a wrong place buddy. Im pretty sure a lot here will tell you not to go with your plan of offering unlimited space/bw.

Thank you sharmaine1111 pointing me in correct direction. I want to setup a dedicated server to offer unlimited plans. Yesterday, I had goggling around 3 to 4 hours but I can not find any technical solution (How to setup a server or what should I consider etc.). Please consider that I am very new to forum posting and webhosting world. I have a spare 1 MBPS bandwidth, that I would like to utilize and target customers are from local market only.

Not sure if you already have a control panel or not but I would recommend getting Cpanel because it is very friendly and easy to learn and you will be able to go from there.

cPanel is very easy to learn and very easy to manage. Although it's quite a memory and cpu hog compared to directadmin. But if you have limited knowledge about linux and server management, then cpanel is best for you If you want to offer unlimited hosting, you must have good, powerful server. To start maybe you can settle for a dual core but you need to expand and cope up with the increase of your client base.

WHM/CPanel is easier for you to configure package for unlimited plans. Just google setting up umlimited hosting plan with whm/cpanel, you will get tutorials on that.
