hello
i would need some server configurations for the following kind of site
let s say i need to create a live streaming website that permits multiple video-web conferences
i would like to know what kind of server config do i need if i have a 2000 users in the same time ?

Hi,
You will need to post a few more details regarding what kind of streaming are you planing to do. Software used, quality, etc.
A point that you might overlooked is the internet connection.

A video-web stream with 2000 simultaneous users would require quite a powerful rig. Simply due to IO requirements and bandwidth requirements. Infact, even if the video stream was at 320kbps (video+audio) for 2000 connections you'd need approx. 80MB/sec. of throughput, that's about 6.4GBps of throughput for a one way transmission.
I highly doubt that ONE server can do this You probably need to look at some sort of clustering solution. I don't know anything about that unfortunately, hope someone else can help.

You will need some cloud-clusters in this case most-likely, some software which can encode\decode stream and push it to your users, you maybe need to checkout collocation costs in this case.
