Reseller Deleted a Client Account Help

Hello I am a reseller and been having very bad issues with my host. Theirr mysql server issues this go round, only been with them since march of this year. Last night I got a call from a client of his site being down totally and not just the mysql databases, I checked inside my whm panel to see if I saw anything, his entire .com and .net sites have vanished. I didn't delete anything my current host says "somehow it got deleted to recreate it's the only option" This is bull ish.... what can I do? Don't they have backups? I got a message that the mysql was fully up and running, well only for two sites the other 5 I have are non functioning and dependent on mysql servers, what do i do? What can I do to get my client back up and running, where would his data be? I dont' see his accounts anywhere and I didn't do a full backmyself, I didn't think it was necessary to backup my clients sites. What do I do? i'm so so upset with my current host taking me through so many changes. I just don't want to walk out and let them walk awayt with my money, since I paid a year in advance... I have asked on numerous occasions for at least a partial refund, they give me the same script over and over, as if they practice what to say if people request for refunds. Any suggestions? I'm so so angry

s2shost, Sorry to hear about your misfortune with your current host. Your current host should have backups available for their clients however it looks like they do not. Does it say anywhere on the website about having backups? You cannot do anything about restoring your clients site unfortunately. If there are no backups available then there is nothing you can do about it. The only way to get some of the files back would be to ask your client if he/she has a backup stored locally on their computer and if they do you can re-create the account and let them upload it again. As far as an account just being deleted...that does not happen. Maybe your host meant to delete some other account and deleted your clients account instead. If your host does not give you a refund at all then you might want to think about moving to a new host that can suit your needs and who can provide support when you need it most. There are many quality hosts out there. Everybody makes mistakes, sometimes it is best to just move on. Good luck with everything.

Thanks xgravity, I had plan on moving, I only got a chance to do full backups on part of my sites but not the latter half then this happens, I tell you when it rains it pours.

S2shost. I am sorry to hear about the tragic deletion of your customers account. I have had the same problem happen to me before. Its annoying i know but sometimes hosts cant help having problems In some cases the host your reselling for should have backups but some dont. By you saying whm i guess your using cpanel good control panel as ive seen. Im on a reseller for £10 and ive had no problems what so ever. But to your problem with the account being deleted. As you know that your host doesnt do backups i whould recommend that you note in your terms and conditions to let your users know and it protects you as well. Something simple like We shall not be held responsible in the event of any file loss resulting from the failure of any of the Servers or Services We operate. We do not perform regular backups and it is therefore advised to backup all of Your files locally on a regular basis depending on how often You update your Web Site. I wish you the best in luck in the future and i hope you dont have any more problems with your host.

What's written in their TOS about refunds? If all else fails, threaten them with a chargeback, i'm sure they'd rather issue a partial refund better than having you do a chargeback. Also, remember this vital hint; NEVER PAY FOR HOSTING IN ANNUAL TERMS!
