Have you installed HyperVM to start with? What errors do you get when you try to do /etc/init.d/hypervm start?

Posted by madaboutlinux, 04-06-2010, 07:12 AM
Have you tried restarting hypervm service on the main host node? If yes, what error you receive?

Posted by PCS-Chris, 04-06-2010, 07:50 AM
Are you sure you are using the correct IP address? 127.0.0.1 is localhost e.g. the PC/Server you are currently logged in as. Try using the External IP of your server instead.

The ip address is example one! it's unable to connect when i open the ip:8888.

Posted by Adam H, 04-07-2010, 12:55 PM
Are you able to resolve download.lxlabs.com? What happens when you ping download.lxlabs.com? EDIT: It looks like you have HyperVM installed over cPanel from your most recent post

Posted by boxer, 04-07-2010, 01:03 PM
yes, this is a node server witch i installed HyherVM, and in some how it's look that i installed cPanel in the node server, and run /script/upcp -force!! { idiot } now am unable to let anyone connect via ssh, and other VPS is down, i try to restart the cPanel and now the website's still doesn't work!

Posted by boxer, 04-07-2010, 01:08 PM

Posted by Dan-CKS, 04-07-2010, 01:15 PM
do you have a firewall installed? csf etc

Posted by boxer, 04-07-2010, 01:18 PM
no, in this server i dont think that i have csf or any firewall installed!

Posted by Dan-CKS, 04-07-2010, 01:20 PM

Posted by boxer, 04-07-2010, 01:22 PM

Posted by Dan-CKS, 04-07-2010, 01:35 PM
They look ok, However you could try google dns servers. Worth a try.

Posted by boxer, 04-07-2010, 01:40 PM

Are you able to ping 8.8.8.8? What's the result of iptables -L?

Posted by boxer, 04-07-2010, 02:24 PM
it's look like my ip_conntrack table is full and it is dropping all connections, how could i fix that?

Posted by Adam H, 04-07-2010, 02:58 PM
cat /proc/net/ip_conntrack | wc -l What's the value of /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_conntrack_max also? You may want to try increasing it.

Posted by boxer, 04-07-2010, 03:01 PM

Posted by boxer, 04-07-2010, 03:06 PM
the ip connect max track is "32760"!!

Posted by Adam H, 04-07-2010, 03:07 PM
echo 65536 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_conntrack_max This will increase it until you next reboot. Last edited by Adam H; 04-07-2010 at 03:11 PM.

I try numerous methods of killing iptables and conntrack. nothing worked. I tried killing individual processes. I finally blocked all traffic to the server with the firewall rules to stop conntrack from scrolling the screen. I finally had to reboot the server, it was simply too corrupt to continue. i will let you know how it is when it reboots.

ssh now working! now how should we fix the HyperVM ?? and ping google.com working fine now.

Posted by Adam H, 04-07-2010, 03:41 PM
Are you still getting the error from before when starting HyperVM? Is MySQL installed? # rpm -q mysql-server

Posted by boxer, 04-07-2010, 03:45 PM
the HyperVM doesn't work now, it's look when i had a -HD failer and restore the data from it's doesn't work, now i had blocked all the connection to the server while i fix the hypervm problem, actually i don't know why it's doesn't work, but it's look that the mysql wont work with HyperVM, is that command rpm -q mysql-server wont effect other VPS ?

Posted by Adam H, 04-07-2010, 05:27 PM
It will tell you the version of MySQL installed, if any.

Posted by boxer, 04-07-2010, 07:44 PM
Thanks Adam, now all the VPS down, while am trying to enable them online it's alert this error any idea ?

Posted by Dan-CKS, 04-07-2010, 07:47 PM
You need to re install the OPENVZ Kernel.

Posted by Dan-CKS, 04-07-2010, 07:49 PM
take a look at this: http://wiki.openvz.org/Quick_installation

Posted by boxer, 04-07-2010, 08:06 PM
i'll have a look and let u know, but am wondering what did the "/script/upcp" do! and how could we stop cPanel for running without reloading the os... any idea about the error's and miss-configuration that cPanel /script/upcp do ?

Posted by Dan-CKS, 04-07-2010, 08:19 PM
upcp updates the control panel to the latest version.

Posted by boxer, 04-07-2010, 08:24 PM
i knew that, but the problem from the beginning, when we get the server we install cPanel, and after that we decide to use HyperVM, so now by mistake we run the update command for cPanel!! as it's the "idiot" mistake, but wtf i need to know how could the update for cPanel effect HyperVM! does it update the kernel ? chmod anything effect HyperVM permission ?

Posted by Dan-CKS, 04-07-2010, 08:26 PM
Are you using cpanel on a vps or the actual server itself?

Posted by boxer, 04-07-2010, 08:27 PM
even netstat does not work! no am using cPanel on the VPS, and HyperVM on the node server "the problem".

Posted by boxer, 04-07-2010, 08:29 PM
duhh!! looks that the cPanel update the kernel! as i think the VPS kernel would look something like this not *.el5 the grub file is Last edited by boxer; 04-07-2010 at 08:32 PM.

Posted by boxer, 04-07-2010, 08:47 PM
i fix that problem and now when i try to enable any VM's i get

Posted by boxer, 04-07-2010, 09:42 PM
the problem fixed, just run the command after we stop the HyperVM and then start it Thanks all!

Posted by Sileep Kumar M S, 04-08-2010, 10:14 AM
Still using HyperVM? Did they fix the vulnerabilities?

Posted by boxer, 04-08-2010, 10:17 AM
I think so, is there anything more secure you know than HyperVM ?

Posted by Sileep Kumar M S, 04-08-2010, 10:19 AM
Most of the providers are now using SolusVM.

Posted by boxer, 04-08-2010, 10:20 AM
i'll check it, thanks for sharing!

Posted by Dan-CKS, 04-08-2010, 10:23 AM
From what i have seen on my servers, solus uses quite alot of CPU. So it may not be the best choice for lowwer end servers.

Posted by Sileep Kumar M S, 04-08-2010, 10:26 AM
But Solus is having a lightweight interface compared to HyperVM, also easy to manage.

Posted by Soluslabs, 04-08-2010, 04:52 PM
Hi, Can you give me a little more information on this ?

Posted by Dan-CKS, 04-08-2010, 05:00 PM
Yes, i was just getting constant high loads. Its a great panel but not the best for Low spec servers like i said.

Posted by hertzwebsolutions, 04-10-2010, 04:13 PM
What kind of server specifications, and was it a master on a separate VPS/Dedi or hosting virtual machines too?

Posted by Dan-CKS, 04-10-2010, 04:19 PM
At the time it was a master, And Specs are: Intel Quad Core Q6600 4GB RAM The actual load was high before any VM's where on it.
