Linux reseller needed

Posted by aussie_dude, 08-15-2004, 11:13 AM
Hi all, i'm in need for a new reseller package. I need it ASAP and hope that you guys could give me some recommendation of good host? I've tried to use the host quote feature here but got only 2 responses and i'm not happy with what they have come to offer me... My budget is around $30/month and i need a fast server with at least: 4GB space and 80GB bandwidh. Is this too much to ask for? And moderator, i'm not sure if this is a right forum to ask, if i'm breaking the rule, please PM so i can edit my post, dont' just delete my post please Thanks

No host will respond here for sure. However, You have 3 options: Other people let you know about their respective hosts and their experience with them. You can prepare your shortlist of Hosts then share with people here and let them reccomend you based on that shortlist. Use the search option and try to find a Host for you. All the best.

You can use HOST QUOTE. This will help you.

Yes, it is too much to ask for, and is probably why you only got two responses. Judging by discussions in the premium member forums, many hosts have given up responding to quotes that are asking for too much. I'm not having a go - just trying to help out as to why you were maybe disappointed with the replies you received

You can try midphase.com They have some good reseller packages through their recently acquired companies i.e. thrillhost.com & autica.com Moreover, their support is great, low turnaround time and a promised 99.98% uptime guarantee. WebFusion

Are you looking for top of the line as far as reliability/speed/features or as long as the uptime is decent and costs are affordable? It depends on how important you think your content is and if you are going to be hosting cusotmers do you want to be a budget hosting provider or a high-end provider with higher costs?

Well... if waiting for quotes is too unproductive, take the other approach: look for offers. There's still a forum for that here and you can even use http://findmyhosting.com/advancedsearch.asp for more fast results. Then it's all about making the right choice. That's really the hard part!

thanks for the info guys i'm not narrow to two host: 1. Gazzin Network 2. DDi Hosting I did the search on both of them, seems like DDi Hosting has been around longer but Gazzin has cheaper package, i've email both of them and their response was fast too... What do you guy think of each of them? any good, bad experience with them?

Posted by NeoGen, 08-15-2004, 11:01 PM
I am with DDI, and my experience has been real good so far. I will reccomend DDI. costs may be cheaper for Gazzin, but look for particular other prices too, like DDI provide dedicated IPs with their accounts. At DDI run some promotional schemes as well, I feel they are running backtoschool scheme giving 40% discount. That makes them real affordable.

I believe Gazzin gives dedicated IPs free of charge also. They also give an extra 500mb space for your main site seperate from your reseller account. Check out their packages page. I am thinking of going with gazzin. The only down side is that they dont accept paypal.

If you could reduce your bandwidth requirement then you can try these hosts: ddihosting.net dailyhosting.net incognitonetworks.com citadelhost.com newista.com Do search about their comments in WHT and try their support by yourself. Good luck

I am too, Very good support, that is the most important aspect of a reseller acount(at least for me). I recomend DDIHosting

i think newista seems reliable and quality. who can make this list bigger. any more companies?

I think so. Of course this depends on how long you want to be with your current host. Also it makes a big difference if that disk space is based on allocation or usage. If it is usage and someone does offer it to you, you are most likley wasing your time and money with that host.

I'm looking at DDI, and I read this post. What's (where's) that discount you're talking about? For example, at this moment the "entry reseller account" is $14.95 Per Month. Was it more expensive? Did the discount vanish? Doesn't that discount no longer apply?

Look in the Shared/Reseller Hosting Offers forum for that and other promotions. If you haven't been there it may open a whole new world for you
