hosting server capacity sizing?

Dear folks, i was planning to have a colocated server hosting web-apps/email specs as below: 1) WAN bandwidth: 1MB 2) server specs: CPU: 1*dual core 3ghz RAM: 3GB HDD: 146GB RAID1 NIC: 1GB normally how many customers/users will you advice to setup on 1MB bandwidth and servers specs above? thanks alot

i would not host even a single client on this server,cause i think that 10mb is nothing for starting a hosting business

1MB of bandwidth is about 33GB/Month, it's not even worth trying to host customers on that.

1MB bandwidth?? Are you sure you want to write MB and not GB (even 1GB is too low)? No one will prefer to host their sites on such servers.

I can't believe you can even get just 1MB. You must mean at least 1GB.

NO, Internet Connection speed is too low (nowadays every hosting company offers 100mbps connection by default) and Bandwidth is too costly.

ksc123, - if you are looking to hosting just your website on this - maybe its ok - but for shared hosting you need more bandwidth and i suggest a dedicated 100 Mbit Port with at least 1TB of bandwidth (4mb/sec sustained) also think about back ups, security, automation process, etc
