Need help installing python 2.6 on CentOS

Posted by Awwent, 11-13-2010, 10:34 AM
Greetings everyone! I'm trying to install Python 2.6 and mod_wsgi for Apache on my CentOS server. Since a lot of tools in CentOS (as far as I know) use python 2.4 (which I got now) I can't really update the system python but have to make a separate install. I've tried downloading RPMs for it, I've tried tarballs and so but I can't get it to work. I need someone to guide me through the process and help me get it to work. I'm offering a small amount of money for anyone willing to help me (if you want money ). You get the money when I can print "Hello World" on a webpage with Python, not before. Thanks,

I tried that but couldn't get it to work. Still need someone willing to help me fix this. The issue with the above link was that when I tried to install python25-2.5.1-bashton1.i386.rpm it said I needed a library and when I tried to install python25-libs-2.5.1-bashton1.i386.rpm it said I needed Python 2.5. Wow.
