Need a host for multiple domains...

Posted by b4rm4n, 05-25-2005, 12:23 PM
Ok here is what I am looking for... it doesn't necessarly need to be a reseller but I need something to host multiple domains. Price: $30-$50/mth Bandwidth: 30GB/mth + (I probably do around 22GBs/day on the two sites I run now) Need: MySQL and PHP 4 support Would be nice: if it supported server side includes as that is the way it I have pages setup now. Need someplace that is going to be really reliable as I have customers that are paying for ad space that would be very unhappy if the site was down for a long period of time. Any suggestions? Thanks in adavance. James

Your budget seems pretty good. However you mentioned you need 30GB/mth bandwidth but you do 22GB/day on a few sites? Or are these sites not going on the account? I would suggest looking into the following hosts. http://www.digitallyjustified.com http://www.httpme.com http://www.bluewho.com http://www.resellernexus.com http://www.dotable.com Those are some reliable companies that are worth a look, also check out the shared/reseller offers forum and people's signatures then do a search to find feedback on anyone who has what you need. Good Luck!

Is that a typo? If you do 22GBs/day you will need way more then 30GB /month.

You didnt mention how much space you are likely to need/use, A custom solutuon or maybe a VPS may be a option if you can slightly up your budget. Regards

Take a look at ReselerZoom.com. I saw they have a great offer, and have also very great support. There are very good reviews on this forum.

You can take a look at JodoHost, probably fits your needs.

Yes 22GB/day is a misprint... should be 22GB/mth somewhere around 2GBs of storeage space also... Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Have you had a look at the offers section? The ads WHT displays? maybe have a look at places like site5, Make sure you research the host you choose. Regards

If I don't plan to actually use the reseller features.... would I be better off getting a non reseller account as far as server stability and reliability goes? The reason I ask is someone in another thread said they outgrew their account. Like I said above I have two sites one of which gets a lot of hits (2.6million this month already) and I just want it to be stable. Right now these two sites are on a win 2003 machine by themselves and run great. But my 10MBit connection is going bye-bye when I move Thanks in advance. James

Then you can use HostingZoom.com a parent company from ResellerZoom, same good thing!

I think your targer price is very reasonable, wish you the best in finding your next host.

Two other important considerations are; Windows Hosting or Linux? Do you prefer a specific type Control Panel? You should state those as they will help in determining recommedations. And whether a Reseller account or Shared should make no difference in the Server stability a Hoster provides. You might want a Reseller account though, as you can easily get higher Web space and Data tranfer allotments right off the bat.

One word of advice, if you do go for a linux host, ask them if they can accept and handle a site as busy as yours. This will reduce your headaches in the long run.

If you only need one ftp login to manage all the domains, you might be able to get away with a larger shared hosting account. Most hosts allow users to host more than one website on a domain these days. Of couse, if you need to create control panels for other users then a reseller account is probably what you are looking for.
