lighttpd.conf server_root settings question

what should the setting be for the following? var.server_root = "/var/www/lighttpd" is this /home/site1/public_html ? server.document-root = server_root + "/htdocs" do i remove the htdocs and put /vids for my videos? what is actually being kept in the document-root is this video content or is this something internal for lighttpd?

your website root folder

var.server_roo is the webserver load folder , other your domain document root .
