Reseller Needed, Budget Included

Posted by blend., 10-06-2005, 12:24 PM
Hello, Being new to WHT, and relatively new to internet commerce, I was wondering if i could get some advice from experienced users. I'm currently have a $250 USD/month budget and am looking for a reseller program that suits my needs. I see alot of reseller plans that look great (good bandwidth, excellent customer service etc), but simply do not have the disc space (the average seems to be around 30 gb). I then look at dedicated servers, and while they have great storage, the bandwidth is not very good. I was wondering if someone could just suggest some plans. Thanks in advice, Bernie Kennelly PS> I'm researching on my own as well, but I thought posting couldn't hurt.

Welcome to WHT. Could you tell us more about what you need? - Disk space - Bandwidth - Platform - Server location (in what country) - Preferred control panel, if any Have you considered a VPS? It's a step between a reseller account and a dedicated server. Lois

In your search if you find something close to what your needing you might then write that company and ask them for a "custom quote" A lot of companies do custom quotes. I would look at a dedicated unmetered bandwidth dedicated server or VPS. There are a lot of offers for this type of product in the offers section. Good luck

For $250 USD/month and with those requirements, you are closer to a dedicated server then a reseller account. However, if you need a fully managed server, your budget is a "little" low, but, you still should be able to find reputable providers in that price range. I believe liquidweb may be a place for you to consider...

Im sure some hosts would be able to work out a custom plan for you if you needed that large amount of diskspace

Hi blend, I recommend ResellersPanel. You're going to want to put as much of that $250 per month as possible towards your marketing, so why not start as inexpensively as possible? And there's no need to be concerned about quality, either. From experience, I can tell you this - If you're looking to resell, ResellersPanel is the best partner you'll find. We've been with Dotster, XO, and HostCentric, as well as ResellersPanel, and ResellersPanel comes out far ahead of the others.

You can easily get any reseller plan you wish. Though your budget is high enough for a fully managed server, most managed providers won't provide the support you'll need to your clients. You can try finding a provider who will provide a dedicated server reseller plan.

you can try a wwd account and get a dedicated server with plesk or use the new free dedicated server manager coming out in a bit. then you can sell domains and other things to your customers as well as hostings accounts on your dedicated server. you can make the price on your own server, starts around 109 or less.

With 250$ you should be looking at dedicated servers.

I thank you all for your feedback, I appreciate it. I have decided to go with tdkhosting.com . I'm getting a 2.4 ghz managed server, with a gig of ram, unmetered bandwidth, 200 gb drive with 80 gb backup for $220 a month. I can say that so far TDK's support has been top of the line, I was chatting with a tech for an hour and twenty mintues last night, at 1:30 AM. I will later post a review of their service. Thank you all for your time.

That's great to hear that you've found a suitable host. Reviews after someone has been with a host for a while are always helpful. Lois
