searching for reliable reseller provider

Posted by 2284, 10-06-2005, 11:55 AM
Hello to all, I am a reseller for more that 3 years I have been change several hosting companies and now i am thinking to move again because I am facing some problems with my current host (downtimes, server overload). I believe that all hosting companies have problems with their servers time to time but when these problems start to happen more often then something is going wrong. I am looking for a host company who offer very good support 24/7, cpanel, about 20 GB disk space, at list 200 GB data transfer, fast and reliable servers. Also I am thinking to have my sites in two different hosting companies to minimize the downtime, you think with this way its possible to work. Any suggestions or comments are more than welcome.

You wont need to have your sites split between 2 companies. You just need to find one good one. What is your budget?

You mean you want to setup a redundancy of some kind or just to split your between two hosts so that they're not all down at the same time?

They way that I am thinking is if I can have my sites in a different host and setup different DNS and set them as a third and forth server in my domains. I don’t know if works with this way. My budget is about $60/mo to $80/mo

I dont think added your site two different companies will work for you , but what will work is having two server custer together. but to do that is high cost for you. finding a resellers is a google step away [ below is a sample of a serch you need to run ]. you can find out all about the company and its feedbacks from other sites. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...=Google+Search enjoy

Thats a VERY large reseller account. With those sorts of requirements (especially if you actually use that much), you should probably start looking at a dedicated server... Honestly, any reseller account offering those resources will almost cost as much as a dedicated server anyway... If you get those resources for anything less then $150-$200, you are in an oversold environment and you will more then likely countinue to have problems....

agreed , but 150 too high i say around 80 +

I guess this is a matter of opinion - but, in my opinion - $0.40/GB is on the low end of what "reliable" services should charge... Ive always felt, and based on our experience its held true - that $0.75-$1.00/GB is the Magic number for reseller accounts. But, I guess it all depends on the quality of bandwith, quality of hardware, redundancy expectations, backup and recovery expectations, expectations of support, etc...

What you've described would implement a round robin system, not a failover system. If your $80 budget is for two 20Gb & 200Gb reseller accounts, you're quite underbudgeted. Yes, if we're speaking about reseller hosting services, I tend to agree with you.

You think that there are companies that offering this kind of service. You can suggest any. The budget can be higher $100 - 110

I've been with pxtek.com a little over a year now, i believe they are currently running a reseller special, not quite sure but you can visit their site for more information. Their service has been great so far, and you can search for my reviews on them few months back if you want.

For $100 - $110 a month, you can already get yourself a dedicated server. No need for a reseller if you actually do plan to use all the space/bandwidth you've requested. A dedicated server IMO would be best for you!

A dedicated server its much more work for me, i don't know many things about how to manage and secure a dedicated server and a full managed decicated server cost a much more so i am ok if i find a good company who offers reseller hosting. Any suggetions about good and reliable companies.

For 24/7 support, fast and reliable servers, you are terribly underbudgeted. Do you want to split your reseller account into 2 or have a site available with 2 different providers? While the former alternative looks good so that if one of your providers has a downtime, all the sites do not go down together, the latter will call for a lot of thinking on your part cuz the expense will be definitely very high.

I read the posts and I realize that there not a reliable hosting provider for resellers. What is the best choice if there is any.

Get a dedicated server, it'll be your best choice especially with that budget.
