Hi brothers If I put Debian as OS ,will I have to pay licensing of every vps I make on it?,also since I know Debian allows partitioning can I make individual units with partitioning insidse?,not just talking about partitioning the disc the more I can but doing it inside isolated units

Debian is free/open-source Linux distro (http://www.debian.org/intro/free). What license fee are you referring to?

if is linux I dont know why some companies charege like 5 or 10 dollars to setup with it

A dedicated server provider may charge extra to physically load the OS onto the system, particularly if this OS is not part of an automated provisioning process for them. Though, typically, I don't think too many providers actually charge extra for Debian.

I've never seen a provider charge for a Free/Open source OS. Maybe if you wanted it reinstalled? Edit: Do the providers charge it on a onetime fee or monthly? Last edited by GSpinkz; 03-30-2011 at 08:56 AM.

You are asking me of what I saw? o n e time using dedicated but no one has told me what do they know of Debian partitioning stop sinchretiscm

You said it as though it was common so people were asking questions. Now that you say you saw it one time - it may have been best to ask that one provider that one time you saw it your questions as to why they charged for it. Debian is free. Beyond that, I've never seen anybody use partitioning to separate users out but I know Xen HVM does use LVM groups for each VPS which I guess you could consider being similar.
