How did you manage to do that? I'm not sure if this will work with a Jailshell but try the following as root: chsh -s /bin/sh (You can also use /bin/bash if that's your shell of preference.) If the Jailshell doesn't allow you to run chsh, you'll have to boot the server into single user mode and try again.

How were you able to get the root into jailshell? You changed the shell in /etc/passwd file and logged out? Never thought how a 'jailed shell root' will work. I guess you will have to boot to single-user mode to restore permissions.

resolved from single user mode chsh -s /usr/local/cpanel/bin/jailshell and press enter for root user to go to jail shell
