Outgoing Email Issue (WHM & cPanel)

I'm trying to send emails via thunderbird but I'm constantly getting SMTP connection timed out. I can check incoming mails without any problems, it is just outgoing emails. Now the server has config server firewall installed, would this be causing conflicts? Any help is appreciated.

Are you getting any error message? Try using port 26 instead of port 25 make sure that under Service Manager in WHM you have Exim on second port and 26 as the port. My guess is your ISP is blocking port 25 access.

I've manged to sort it. I had an SSL certificate installed and I've used the domain using the shared SSL to send email through. The problem still remains if you dont want to send emails via SSL. How can I fix this?

use port 465 instead of port 25 of the thunderbird email program and you are set.
