Rootkit Protector for VPS?

Hello, would just like to ask, is it a MUST to have a rootkit protector like rkhunter? If so, is it okay to have three? I read in a blog somewhere some secure their vps with 3 rootkit protectors at the same time - what will it cause my vps if I did have three? Anyway, thanks in advance =)

Hi, rkhunbter does not protect you from rootkits that's your job rkhunter is just a tool to help detect whether a rootkit is on the server nothing more nothing less.I have rkhunter and CHKrootkit but running them together could be resource costly...
