Right now I have a site under a DDoS attack since a month ago and Black Lotus is my hosting provider. However I'm not totally convinced with this hosting becouse sometimes I have to reload the page two times in order to see my site. Some of my visitor said me that they have problems too. I want to know if someone have had a DDoS attack and how you have solved this terrible issue. Can you give me some recommendations about hosting or another service to solve this problem? I think Black Lotus is overall a good DDoS hosting but for me is some expensive.

The best way to solve this problem would be to notify our support and ask them to adjust your filtering profile, or to whitelist your own IP address. If you're under a current attack, it may be better to keep your site in a strict filtering profile. In this case, you would want to provide your IP address to our support to ensure that your consistent reloading of your own site is not treated as bot-like activity. If it's been a month since the attack started, chances are we can adjust the filtering profile so that connections are not as heavily scrutinized. To achieve this, e-mail support@blacklotus.net . Generally there is no real possible way to avoid them, if someone wants to attack you then the chances are high they will succeed (knowing their skill level), the only ways to really deter them is to mitigate the attack but not all attacks are that easy to mitigate and therefore your sites and services go down. It is really hard to give you examples, but has your provider not assisted in the prevention of the attack, or to mitigate it?
