cheapo reseller account at Resellerzoom?

I have a cheapo reseller account with Unlimited-Hosting.biz - 200mb storage, 4gb transfer, cPanel/whm, etc. I use it for seven personal hobby sites. None of those sites generate revenue. Two of them have phpBB forums, one of which is active but not very large - I once had 13 users online, woo-hoo! Cost is $2.50/month. I get zero useful support, no AWStats (they were there when I signed up, but were later dropped), and erratic e-mail. For $2.50/month I don't expect a whole lot. But uptime has been adequate. Until now. All my sites have been down for over 24 hours. There is no way to contact the host to see what's going on, as the host is down too. Looks like it's time to jump ship. I was considering Resellerzoom. The Budget One plan for $4.95/month looks like it might do the job. In fact it looks much like my Unlimited-Hosting plan, except with ten times the storage and bandwidth (which I am unlikely to use in the near future) for twice the price. Even though I'm not actually "reselling" anything, I like reseller plans, as I find it handy (though not essential) to keep the accounts separate. I would have to use my database backups (which aren't entirely up-to-date, but are much better than starting over) to put the databases on a Resellerzoom plan. I've never tried to do that before. Oh boy, another adventure. As my sites aren't business sites, continuous uptime isn't vital. However I am concerned about my site with the active forum. It's hard to get a new forum going, and if it's down for days at a time, it may die on me if my current members give up on it. So, the immediate question - how has Resellerzoom been behaving lately? I've read many of the threads here concering Resellerzoom, and most look good, although a few have expressed reservations about RZ's cheaper plans.

RZ's cheaper plans are for static sites... but you have phpbbb forums. try budgetreseller.com and axishost.com, they have some reputation here and cheap reseller plans. Last edited by pheny; 07-20-2006 at 08:03 PM.

That often because people try to use them for busy or CPU intensive sites, forgetting that they agreed to this: Thread moved to Reseller Hosting forum.

I don't know about you, but I would be more inclined to go with a web host that has CPU and resource limiations in place. A host that runs a tight ship like that will have far less downtime resulting from server abuse.

I second this thought. I have an Advanced Reseller account there (Not a budget account) and I have had very few issues with the server that I am on. I believe that in some part this is due to the restrictions they have in place. Unlike some of the other providers I have been with that don't have this type of restriction or don't enforce their restrictionsl until the server
