Dodgy mailnull?

I'm constantly receiving emails from CSF on my cPanel server of the following mailnull process: Can anyone let me know what is the purpose of this mailnull process and how to investigate this further?

The mailnull process is Exim, also known as your mail (SMTP) server. Nothing to worry about.

Yes, but if it is running for a long period of time, does this mean it is sending a lot of mail? If so, how can I find the user causing the havoc?

It should be running 24/7 otherwise you won't be able to receive email. Are you having a problem with someone sending large volumes of mail or spam from your server?

I'm having spam issues, the server always seem to have spamd running for long periods of time:

The spamd process is SpamAssassin. It's used to filter incoming spam for your users and it should also be running 24/7 - if you don't want the mail to be filtered for spam you can disable it from within WHM. If you're having spam problems, check the mail log /var/log/exim_mainlog to see where it's originating from. It's kind of a tedious task though to track down spam.. :/
