Issue accessing SSL website through SSH proxy.

Hello, I've initiated a proxy using the guide here: http://www.catonmat.net/blog/linux-socks5-proxy/ I have also tried simply tunneling through proxy and SS5 proxy server. All of them result in the same issue. I seem to be able to visit any website through my proxy, but this one website here: https://secure.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin/accountManagement.pl Firefox error: Chrome error:This is a new VPS, I'm a linux newbie. Purchased it for personal proxy+vpn for gaming related use. I did setup a self signed SSL cert for apache... but I dont see how this would matter as I'm using a socks proxy to pass my data back and forth between the website and my home connection directly. Other proxies I have tried... including one on a windows server 2008 VPS did not experience this problem. If you have any ideas, let me know.

The real cause is a server side setup issue. There is an IP address missing from being assigned to the SSL certificate on the server so when a browser is given one of the valid server IP's that isn't also a valid SSL IP you get this error. If when you do any of the suggestions given here it clears that ( the clear SSL state will do it) IP address and you try it again and get a new but valid IP combination and voila it works.

This is like another language to me, but thanks for the reply haha. Do I need to contact my VPS host? Or would it be something I can fix within CentOS? I have an unmanaged service.

Yes,you need to contact to your VPS provider they will assist you regarding this.

snipped>> -- Anyways, to update on this issue... My current host is URPad.net. The speed is very awesome and its cheap, so I'm in love with those two things. Anyways, I have a ticket open and in the works of having them resolve this, but it's come down to them swearing it's a configuration issue on my end and since I purchased an unmanaged service they cannot do anything. Everything I have read having to do with similar issues, including the above post all say it's a server and/or router problem. I'm fairly particular this is not a configuration issue on my part. One reason being I have tried two brand new VPS' one of which is with urpad.net in the California location and I do not have the same problems I am having with my current Seattle one with urpad.net. I really hope they can get it resolved for me, but it doesn't seem to be happening... I still do have a ticket open and will update the status of my issue sometime in the near future. Maybe you could try to use Squid. I've tried to open the website using one of my squid proxy, and it's working fine I'm using : Debian 5 32bit + Squid 2.7, and also CentOS 5 32bit + Squid 3 ( enable to open IPv6 website )

Hiya, Thanks for the reply. It's not the proxy though causing the issue. I've also experienced this problem using OpenVPN through my Seattle VPS. And again, my California one with urpad one has no problems.
