Just wanted to check with you that if we redirect entire web site in to https:// will that impact the existing SEO score/ranking of the web site ? Are there any disadvantages on redirecting complete web site to https:// ?

I don't think it should affect search engine ranking. However, please be informed that, If your website shows up both ways HTTP and HTTPS, you have a duplicate of each page. IF your site will NOT show up both ways, you are ok then.

It's ok to use only https . Anyway I would use https only for client area.
