Hi guys , i have a VPS which i log into with SSH/Putty and vnc viewer , However now i am using a shared internet connection and although i am still able to log into the VPS through putty whenever i try to run the VNC viewer i get the error message "The connection closed unexpectedly" , Please i would really appreciate if someone could help as the VNC viewer is what i use to view the GUI of the VPS (desktop , webpages etc) .

Which VNC viewer software are you using? It usually shows this message when the network connection is lost. Please make sure that the port for VNC is open in your VPS.

Are you connecting to a VNC viewer on localhost (assuming it's tunnelled using your SSH client)? What happens if you type telnet x where x is the port number for the VNC viewer (e.g. if you use screen :1, put 5901 there, :2, put 5902 etc.)
