How to restore multiple tar.gz backups

Hello, How do I restore multiple .tar.gz backups in WHM? I've replaced my HDD due to HDD failure. Now I need to restore my backups that are stored on a remote ftp account. Does WHM can restore multiple tar.gz backups from a remote ftp account or even locally? If you have any suggestion regarding multiple account restoration please share with me. Thank you

Hello Rezaa, Just place all your tar.gz files under the /home directory and navigate to Backup->Restore a Full Backup / cpmove file OR Place all your tar.gz backup files in /backup/cpbackup/ and goto Backup->Restore Multiple Backups If you use the first option you will have to select each backup manually and hit restore but you can check the logs at the end and see if everything went fine. If you choose the second option, cpanel will restore all backups located in the above named folder at once so you dont have to hit restore on each single file.

Thank you Richard I've put all backups in /backup/cpbackup but WHM does not show any backup file!

Have you tried restoring them individually? Backup > Restore a Full Backup Remember:

There are about 300 backup files, I can not restore them individually. Backups are in username.tar.gz format. Also there wasn't /backup/cpbackup directory by default.I've created it manually. but still can not see backup files in WHM!

Did you try setting Backup Status to "Restore Only"? Can be found at Home »Backup »Configure Backup

To restore backups on a cPanel server the backup tarballs must reside within one of the following: You also need to put the backup system into "restore mode" within WHM Also if backups have not previously been taken on a server I.E a fresh installation the "cpbackup" directory will not be present since its normally created upon the first backup being took. I think there is no direct way to restore multiple .tar.gz files. You will have to do this one by one: Using SSH: 1. Login to SSH 2. Use cmd "/scripts/restorepkg usename" (username of the account that has to be restored) Note: For this you should have the restorepkg script under /scripts directory.
