Surfspeedy sold out to Jumpline any one else not happy?

I have been with Surfspeedy for almost 4 years. I have one of their larger reseller packages. I got a notice in my email about 1 month ago telling me that Jumpline bought out surfspeedy. They promised improvements which was fine and dandy. My biggest complaint is that they took off site studio without informing the clients. Now my problem is I have many hosting clients who signed with me due to the site studio program. They liked the ease of building their own site without knowing html etc. Another gripe is the don't offer customer support 24/7 like Surfspeedy did. Their hours are 9-6 pm. They don't even offer the chat support option. Now do I move or try to find a solution to the sitebuilder issue? Can anyone recommend a reseller account that is along the same price as the Surfspeedy gold reseller package that offers the site studio? Thanks so much.

Looks to me like you're no longer getting the service you bargained for. That seems like a decent reason to change providers. Question remains though, was the old bargain actually sustainable for the provider?

Yep business is business , and I understand that. I just don't understand why they could not give decent notice of the changes instead of just taking things away. To me that is not a good way to do business. I personally would not do my customers that way. I liked where I was at very much, and I was comfortable there.

It has been renamed. It is the middle reseller package listed. Sorry

I don't have a resller account but I've been with surfspeedy four almost 4 years. The service since the Jumpline takeover is rock bottom BAD! Yesterday I get up and see that all of my sites on my account are showing an 'Account Suspended' message. No billing issues, so I contact them with a ticket because on Saturday, that's all they have available. I get a response about 12 hours later, which doesn't address the issues but makes out there's a problem on my end. With a bit of research I realise that they've migrated my account to a new server but left ALL of my add-on domains behind. So I get a bit stroppy, complain about their service and send off another ticket. No repsonse. Send another ticket, still no reponse. Next morning, no reponse. Then I check again, MY TICKET IS DELETED. I try to submit another ticket, I'm blocked from sending tickets. Now all my sites show "Site Suspended" notice and I'm blocked from sending tickets. I have no option but to wait until tomorrow and try to contact them by phone. I'm absolutely astounded that this has happened but right now I'm just hoping I can recover my site files and move away from them asap.

Make sure you use this waiting time efficiently. By the time you get your data back, you should have a replacement host already selected. Did you use aggressive/offensive language when opening these tickets? I hope you'll be able to get them back, and that this will be a lesson learned to maintain your own set of reasonably recent backups. Best of luck!

Being through this buy out situation with two hosts and they always seem to go down bad. I just can't understand why the new owners rush through changes, this is where the problems lie, any changes, server moves what ever, should be done over months and do slowly and one at a time, and fully planned with everyone kept informed, now if the new owners are not able to do that due to cost then maybe they shouldn't have bought the company in the first place.

I feel your pain 100%. I am so sorry. I think I am going to split mine up on 2 different hosting companies. If my site studio clients all were up to switching to RVsitebuilder I would have it licked. The ones that want to keep site studio I will be forced to leave them with Surfspeedy until I can find a service that uses Site Studio. Some of my clients who had add on domains had the same problem as you. Also some sites got the suspended page to. Theys said that it had to be redirected. They fixed mine after 3 days and about 3 phone calls and 2 trouble tickets later. They lost 2 accounts totally off of my reseller and they say they have no idea where it went. I can go on and on. I just think they out and out suck and I can't wait to get away from them.

All their clients got the notice they had been bought out AFTER THE FACT. I was willing to give them a chance and they are just not hitting on much. Their customer support is awful. I have never dealt with anyone who's CS was as bad.

That's usually how it is. It protects the buyer from getting less than what he bargained for, due to customers fleeing.

Yeah in a way I can see why it is done like that. I betcha they lost customers anyway I finally found me another provider. I am going with Geekstorage...and so far so good.

i used to have a VPS with Surfspeedy yes CS was awesome with them i was doing all my reseller and shared hosting there i got the email about the acquisition and i had to submit a ticket to change my billing date, well i have been saving business money for a while but to make a long storyu shot it took 2 weeks to get ahold of them i backed my stuff up and dove in VZ world LMFAO. so far very good i got alot of people to thank for that too
