same datacenter...different ping..how?

i just pinged 2 different websites from the exact same datacenter and got different ping results...like the difference is pretty huge one returned average 100ms and other 20ms why is this?

Check the traceroute and see where the difference are. Some datacenters have different facilities, perhaps you are in a different facility or network segment?

In addition to what Eth00 said. The two hosts could be hosted on servers with different blends on providers going to the hosts with the server if they are colo'd machines. Their is a possible routing issue for one provider maybe.

I see..well that was surprising though with such difference. I thought was different datacenter for a second but no same datacenter.
