Pure-FTPd malware scanner

Hi all, Could you recommend any commercial or free malware/antivirus scanner for Pure-FTPd? We have tried ClamAV however it only blocks around 50% of bad stuff, additionally it is very weak agains phishing or attack scripts.

Check out CXS from www.configserver.com. Has a good rep, over several years old, and many use it.

You can check maldet if it can be helpful in order to scan the ftp.

After messing with both CSX has a lot of options and is really nice. We made a video showing it off and would have to agree that CSX would be ideal if you take time to learn and use it correctly.

You can use maldet to scan the files being uploaded via pure-ftpd. Its always good to scan and remove the virus at the upload time, rather than scanning it later by a virus scanner once it is already uploaded to the server. By the time the virus scanner identifies, it may have done something nasty.

I would also recommend to use CSF firewall along with CXS scanner. It will help you a lot to protect your server to upload suspicious files.
