Doubt about csf

Posted by oscarenzo, 11-01-2009, 04:00 PM
Hi for all, i need information about this option 'Check /etc/cron.daily/logrotate for /tmp noexec workaround', there are in the server check, of the csf test, someone can explain to me about this function? should do it? the actually state is 'warning'.

So basically what the warning is saying that noexec is not on for tmp and your temp area will allow files to be expected. You really shouldnt be having that on anyways At least that is how I read that error

If you have questions with CSF, you should post here: http://forum.configserver.com/ Also this does not belong to Dedicated server forum. I think this is more suited to Technical and Security issues forum

Is this on a VPS or Dedicated?

Just use the following command and it should fix your problem. /scripts/securetmp

is a VPS, what's the difference?, not work = ? thank you Matt, but it's not neccesary a problem, only that is a warning of csf, when i do the check.

Its a warning but you have to fix the issue to remove the warning. VPS are most likely to have more issues with securetmp than Dedicated Servers.

That would be correct and using the cpanel command /scripts/securetmp does not always work in a VPS.

While you are all set properly, and still have the same problem try to restart Cron Jobs from the terminal.
