Yes, I have searched the forum. All day. I would like to get a reseller account at a reliable host with a phone number, with servers at Colo4Dallas. Traceroutes to that NOC are the fastest to my location (faster than theplanet, SAVVIS Chicago, ATL, or LAX). I have an account with host at a Texas NOC (no phone) but Fantastico scripts are not updated, what is there does not install easily and I sense they are more focused on their VPS service (I'm not ready for VPS). Until recently they have been stable and fast. Support has not been great. I'm still considering HostNine, waiting for the reviews to get better. I have a shared account and it has been fast and mostly reliable, but I haven't asked much of it. I'm considering Innohosting but I don't think they have any Texas servers. Now I'm looking at Crucial Paradigm, but no phone. I'd like to stay under or close to $20/mo. I don't want to call my host much, but sometimes it's easier when written language isn't cutting it. I'll be running two low-traffic forums and a mailman list, wordpress, and joomla later. I'm still learning php, I can edit, not write. Any recommendations?

Personally I don't know of much hosts at Colo4Dallas, I know about dedicated servers but not shared/reseller. As for OxyHosts, I would be careful, those costs are pretty cheap. I have tend to learn that you really do get what you pay for. It's just the laws of life.

Oxyhost's site design is really gimped up on my browser, and their rv demos are broken.

All I can tell you is their site looks fine in IE7 , they had my pruchase set up in minutes and so far not a spec of down time. thats just my experience.....

I do not trust sites that develop and test for only IE browsers, or for only any one browser. How long have you been with them?

I haven't heard of any operating out of colo4dallas except one and I have never used them but have had a few conversations with Rus from A2B2, again I can't reccomend them as I have never used them but I am fairly sure their US hosting is based from there. Note: Just checked their site and their US offerings are indeed based in Colo4Dallas.

The reason for Crucial Paradigm not offering phone might be: they are in Australia. Some others in Colo4Dallas: Cartikahosting, Rochen. Andrew and Chris, both they are helpful and managing racks of servers over there.

Why so few? That connection is wicked fast, faster than The Planet (which I've been on with another host and is almost as fast).

Well I'm presuming its because there are a lot of datacenters in texas to choose from. Also Colo4Dallas is Colo only so that means most hosts from there own their hardware, but some that have been mentioned just rent servers from someone else colocating there.

I am sure there are others, but I list the vendors above, cause I have good personal experiences with them. I could not recommend you a host, that I don't know anything

That is correct. I find it one of the best networks/datacenters in Texas.

Well OxyHosts has been around for since August / September 2008 We are not really a HUGE host for now but yes we are growing and have quite a few happy clients About the design, it looks just fine in FF as well as IE for me but the site is anyways scheduled for a look changeover very soon. We do have a few promotions going on including free first month for anyone who has their doubts about us!

I presume you mean September 2007 I also forgot to mention if you want dedicated servers https://www.tailormadeservers.com/ are also the company a lot of hosts "from colo4dallas" resell from. So make sure you go for a host with Colo4dallas not reselling from the above or others go direct not a reseller of a reseller. Although I have no experience of them so its not a personal reccomendation just saw the posts above and they came to mind. Do let us know who you choose in the end and how you get on.

oops! Yeah that was 2007. Yes TMS is really good when it comes to getting a server. And their support is nice and friendly and fast.

I am not ready to run my own server or even an unmanaged VPS. I know my limitations, time and experience-wise. This is not my day job. I don't want to do reseller of reseller ad nauseum, but if I found an established stable co. run by more than 1-3 people who had several servers at Colo4Dallas and another NOC (in case c4d failed like The Planet) that would be great.

I have experienced several colocation environments since I originally got into the colo arena and can definitely say C4D is not only an excellent bang for the buck but also near the top if not the top for colo in the Texas region.
