Hello, Our website is running on WordPress, today I checked WHM and noticed the following: Server load 2.91 (8 CPUs) Memory Used 35.13% (2,863,156 of 8,149,796) Swap Used 77.44% (1,623,448 of 2,096,472) Few results from imp. commands And and and Please recommend what tweaking I should do?

Your server load is fine. Can you restart the server and then watch the swap usage?

You can also find which processes are using swap by referring the following blog post: http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-w...is-using-swap/

Reboot? yes, go ahead and do that and lose all the details of what is using the Swap. Read the referenced post so you can investigate and report on what is using swap. It is possibly a case of a recent spike in RAM requirement and it has settled down somewhat. MySQL is configured to be able to use 100%, but HAS used well over 50% of System Ram. Now if this were to happen there is a pretty good chance that there were other processes running and competing for the RAM you have. I am assuming that this is a single server running both the front-end web server as well as the DB. Have you looked at the per-thread memory usage of your web server and configured the Web server according to the available RAM you have? Time for a bit of analysis before deciding if it is tuning or more RAM.

The ideal solution for WordPress users is to use cache modules like W3 Total Cache or WP Supercache.

If you end up going with W3TC be sure to setup an opcode cache for PHP as well like APC.

I told support to do so but they refused by replying: I am still facing issues, i installed W3TC but still the same CPU loads increases so is memory and swap usage.

APC will not work while using suPHP. You have other options as well. You can try Google's pagespeed service. It will reduce the queries to your server as well as it will boost your page speed as well. For more details, refer the following URL: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/service

Assuming you have a decent amount of memory in this server, greater than say 8GB, you could probably switch to using Fast CGI as well as your PHP handler and then APC would work well. You could also look into CloudFlare as well which would cache static content like images on your site, also helping to bring down server load.

Hi, I can't move to Fast CGI as support is not recommending it in any way. Regarding CloudFlare i will definitely think on that. What about nginxcp.com along with W3TC Plugin? -Regards.

I haven't used nginxcp so I can't comment on that with W3TC, however it would be redundant as CloudFlare is already a reverse nginx proxy. Also I'm not sure who your server host is but if they are offering the server as managed and will not support anything but suPHP I would have serious questions about their technical limitations.

Its a well reputed company named as Wiredtree, we are unable to fix the issue as we are near to 10 hours, still server is getting up and down. Quite strange. I have to think seriously.

Hello khanbaba. If you are sticking with SuPHP, we could definitely utilize Memcached with W3TC. Do you have a ticket ID that we can use to take a look at the issue more closely? It sounds like just find the right combination of software setup and or plugins. Also, have you tried plugin profiler for Wordpress yet on your own?

I would recommend being careful with pagespeed. It's a great service when it works right and is something we can install. We have however seen a few PHP based carts have trouble with it.
