Upgrading to Apache 2.4.6

Hello, I have seen a new apache version 2.4.6 supported by cpanel using easyapache. I am currently using apache 2.2.25 on a reseller server with about 50 accounts. What will be the pitfalls I need to be aware of before upgrading apache? Or any best practices anyone can share? Thanks!

Apache 2.4.x was marked as EXPERIMENTAL in cPanel's EA up to recently. I've seen a couple of providers using it and they've reportedly had no issues. Using Apache 2.4.x with Varnish and mod_remoteip on our cPanel servers for more than 2 months now, didn't cause any issues. Everything runs fine. It seems that it can be used on live/production environments without any problems at all.

I can confirm I too am running Apache 2.4.6 on my server and none of my clients have reported any issues.

If you have any sites using the html5 boilerplate .htaccess file be sure to upgrade that first. Older versions don't support Apache 2.4 and will result in error 500. That's the only issue I've run into.

i have upgraded my servers to 2.4, didnt had any issues regarding this.

using 2.4 with event model and php-fpm and works great, on par with nginx I'd say.

there r no problems in upgrading apache versions , if u upgrade u will get more features & better security.
