Best Resellers in Europe

Posted by intmet, 08-09-2009, 05:30 AM
Hi, we are starting a web hosting business in Istanbul, Turkey. We are looking for companies with good speed, friendly end user service and stable servers within Europe. Any suggestions ? Also, if I would like to find out about the speed of the servers of a particular host, would it be enough just to ping their homepage ? Thank you in advance. Great forum by the way Taygun

I'd recommend you ask the host for a test file, so you can accurately find out the host's speed from your connection. Many hosts have their website on a different network to their clients.

Thanks for the input. I will definitely try that. I am reading many good things about Heartinternet yet they use a custom panel. I am guessing this might cause problems ???

Any host using a custom panel can give problems when transferring to another host. If you also outgrow reseller hosting and move to a dedicated server, you will likely install cPanel or another popular control panel, you would then have to move your accounts manually. If you were to go with a cPanel host to start with, your accounts can be easily transferred, everything is automatically packaged up and restored at your new server without losing any data.

Thank you sir

I think it is difficult to judge the speed of a host. The speed depends on many factors like latency, your connection speed, what you host, etc. so, the speed you get with a test file can be different on the actual speed you get with any other page with images, etc.

Thats true but I need to get some idea about the servers response time. Anyways, what do u guys think about hosting-dime ? I am thinking about starting off with them... Taygun Last edited by intmet; 08-12-2009 at 03:21 PM. Reason: typo

Which of HostDime's data centers are you intrested in hosting in? I believe they have a presence in the UK and Isreal as well as the USA.

Posted by intmet, 08-12-2009, 05:27 PM
Since we are located in Turkey. We are thinking about going with UK servers. Geek, if you like you can send me an email with your server's ip and we can test it. Also a test file too if possible info(at)intmet.net Thanks...

Hi, As requested i've sent you an e-mail. http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews5877.html Might help with your hostdime question.

We appreciate you also pointing this out, I feel any client should research who they do business with. While we try our best sometimes there are clients who do make 2-3 posts about a bad situation that had. We do really try our best to resolve it even if they will no longer be a client and we help them move their files to another host. We been around for over 7 years and have multiple data centers and understand the value of customer service.

You should also search any hosts name here on WHT first as you will find many reviews on just about any company. http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php

I assume you can visit some local forums as well and find out more information about the local companies

Posted by intmet, 08-13-2009, 02:04 PM
That's a good point yet where I am from, pricing is simply ridiculous. I know that I should use the search button more often but can anyone offer some German companies that offer good speed and service ? Thanks...

In general European hosts are a bit more expensive as lets say US hosts, but in some countries the costs of local datacenters are so expensive the local hosts are forced to ask the jackpot. See many Turkish webhost move to countries like Germany, Netherlands and UK. But the same counts for the Nordic countries, Italy, Greece and Spain. Not so strange if you concider that worlds major internet exchanges are located in these 3 countries.

Posted by intmet, 08-13-2009, 02:48 PM
That's so true. Actually, it is not the price of the servers that is expensive. It is the internet connection. We would have to pay more than 2000$ for a good 100 mbit connection and plus the servers. I think the same goes for some other underdeveloped European countries too.

I second Dan in this case, i.e if you wish to have a global choice open for your future hosts, it is highly recommended that you go with popular control panels such as cpanel, plesk, helm etc(ofcourse depending on your OS requirement). Going with a host that uses custom control panel may later popup problems when it comes to migrating data. Often users lose their emails and ftp users whil migrating from custom control panels to a popular industry used control panel.

Most of Europe is well connected with each other so any hosting within the Europe such as UK or AMS would suffice for most needs. There isn't much latency for your standard websites.

I am also searching for something similar and till now came downt to stablehost.com which i think offers the best reseller costs for European region. At the same time it is kind of unbelievable and therefore have a doubt, but there are very many excellent reviews about them.

Posted by 040Hosting, 08-23-2009, 05:20 AM
If there are many excellent reviews on sites which are reliable it might be a good host for you, personally i have no experience with them, but it looks good (sadly that doesn't mean anything). Always contact a host to see if they can deliver what you expect. Remember that reseller hosting means that the host is the one taking care of your infrastructure so are a large part of your own company; if they mess up; your name is on the line. A reseller hosting company should be a true partner to your business.

Well their response time was less than 10 mins. and in anycase suits me as as this is just a development phase for me as i am learning web development from scratch and just need a place to play. This will also help me to analyse their performace once i start with paid customers.

So that Hostley is their customer proves them any good? Have you had any experience with Hostley? Last edited by Ceko; 02-26-2010 at 10:48 PM. Reason: misspelling of a word
